I'll dominate 'credible boxer' Jake Paul - Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

Anthony Joshua prepares to battle the American YouTuber in an eight-round match which will be streamed in real-time on Netflix.

British boxer Anthony Joshua declared he will "dominate completely" Jake Paul and "overpower" the American as the combatants came face-to-face to publicize the upcoming boxing match.

Ex two time unified heavyweight champion Joshua battles social media star turned fighter Jake Paul - in what is, theoretically, a massive uneven pairing - at Miami venue on December 19th.

Fighter's Mentality

"I will damage his features and damage his physique. My goal is to show I'm superior," Joshua, 35, said.

"I'll stamp all over him. That's how fighters think.

"I intend to really want to injure him. That's my intention."

Respectful Exchange

Despite those words, a relaxed Anthony Joshua and social media star Jake Paul - typically famous for his theatrics - were respectful and kept it respectful with each other.

Paul instead criticized ex Joshua's rival the Cameroonian fighter and labeled him "not serious" after Ngannou turned down a fight offer.

Targeting Tyson Fury

Anthony Joshua, at the same time, criticized British rival Tyson Fury - and declined a large bet 'The Gypsy King' states he will put on a Paul win.

"Jake Paul is superior to Tyson Fury - he's present here," the boxer commented.

"I respect him for that."

Legitimate Fighter

In spite of declaring he will hurt Jake Paul, Anthony Joshua refused to talk badly about his opponent's fighting skills.

"Jake Paul is a serious fighter," he remarked.

Jake Paul's History

Jake Paul - who originally gained popularity on the television network - has mainly boxed mixed martial artists or declining opponents since turning professional.

He was defeated by British fighter Fury in 2023.

Commercial Attraction

Nevertheless, the relative newcomer remains one of boxing's biggest money-making draws, regularly earning substantial paydays.

Prediction and Belief

The 28-year-old predicted a stoppage in rounds four or five and asserted he would derail the highly-expected Fury-Joshua bout, which is apparently in the works for 2026.

"It will be my match with Fury next year," Paul said.

Size Disparity

As the two fighters participated in the customary confrontation, with their size difference on show, it drove home just how unlikely this complete situation is - and how remarkable it is that the match is actually going ahead.
